Teofila

Teofila Mapatac Bernal, a Filipino nanny and childcare specialist, has accumulated over five years of experience in newborn care, toddler care, and early childhood education in Dubai. From February 2023 to May 2025, she worked with JBR Home Health Care as a newborn baby, toddler, and childcare provider for children up to 5 years old. Her responsibilities included feeding through breast milk handling, formula preparation, and bottle feeding, diaper changing and hygiene maintenance, burping and soothing the baby after feeds, bathing the baby safely and regularly, putting the baby to sleep and maintaining nap schedules, monitoring and recording feeding, sleep, and diaper changes, sterilizing bottles, pacifiers, and toys, supporting developmental milestones such as tummy time, visual and sound stimulation, dressing the baby in appropriate, clean clothes, keeping the baby's area tidy including crib, playmat, and changing station, administering medication if directed by parents, and notifying parents of any signs of illness or discomfort.

From June 2020 to January 2023, Teofila worked as an assistant teacher and baby care provider at Academy Baby Care in Dubai. Her duties included taking care of kids in the classrooms and playground, developing lesson plans and learning goals with the head teacher, maintaining daily records, tracking student progress, and intervening to help students progress as necessary, fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment where the unique needs of all students are met, arranging educational activities outside the classroom and supervising students during breaks and mealtime, regularly communicating with family members and other staff such as school psychologists and counselors to meet the individual needs of each student, and ensuring the classroom environment meets standards for safety and cleanliness. Teofila speaks fluent English and Tagalog and is currently based in Dubai with an employment visa.
